Private tour: the Anthony Davis collection of fine bookbindings
A collector for over 50 years, Library member Anthony Davis will share a personal library focusing predominantly on English bindings made between 1600 and 1840.
The collection is particularly strong on bindings with a Royal connection, including books owned by the late Stuart monarchs, and in books of Romantic poetry typically bound as gifts for women.
Amongst other highlights are bindings with musical connections, including books associated with Purcell and Handel.
A light lunch will be provided. Please note this event is for Thackeray and Dickens Patrons.
