Timeline
The plans are being delivered in two phases, carried out in specific periods to ensure minimal disturbance to normal Library operations. The Library will remain open throughout and maintaining Library operations at all times is a major priority.
Phase One was completed in June 2026.
Phase Two works are expected to commence late 2027, subject to funding. There will be some disruption while the lift is installed but we expect to maintain access to all floors. Temporary alternative facilities will be provided during the renovation of the 6th Floor.
