RETROSPECTIVE CATALOGUING PROJECT
A major project is underway to add records for all the Library’s one million volumes to our online computer catalogue. Our team of cataloguers currently adds on average 2,700 titles to the catalogue each month, and a regular newsletter provides the latest information on progress.
With more resources the project could be accelerated, helping to bring forward the time when details of all the collection will be searchable - and orderable - via the website. You can support the project either by making a general donation or by contributing to the cataloguing of a specific collection of books.
If you have an interest in a particular author or subject, we can estimate the time and expense required to catalogue all the relevant books. For example:
- all titles by William Shakespeare would cost £1165.50 and take 13 days
- all titles on Slavery would cost £380 and take 4 days
- all titles in the English Drama section would cost £3,200 and take 36 days
