BORROWING ENTITLEMENTS AND LOAN PERIODS
Personal members living in London are entitled to an initial basic allowance of 10 volumes on loan at any time; 'country' members (i.e. those living more than 20 miles from the Library) have a basic allowance of 15 volumes. For the payment of supplementary fees these allowances may be increased, in blocks of 5 volumes, to a total maximum of 40 volumes.
Books may be kept for at least one month, and longer if they are not requested by another member. New books (i.e. books acquired by the Library within the last four months) may be borrowed for 14 days and during this period are not subject to recall; they may be renewed if not wanted by another member. Members can use the 'My Library Card' option on the online catalogue to view lists of the books that they currently hold on loan and to place recalls. A PIN, available from the Membership Office, is required to access this facility.
Every two months you will need to renew your books, either directly through the online catalogue, by emailing renewals@londonlibrary.co.uk, fax (020 7766 4766), telephone (020 7766 4743) or by letter to the Returns Desk at the Library. It is not necessary to bring books to the Library in order to renew them.
