Free Monday Evening Tours

Discover one of the world's largest independent lending libraries, steeped in history and housing a fascinating and varied collection.

The London Library hosts free guided tours on Monday evenings offering visitors the opportunity to visit this historic literary oasis in the heart of the capital. There's no fear of getting lost as our friendly staff guide you around the mind-boggling 1 million volumes on 15 miles of shelving. There's no better way to beat the Monday blues!

13th and 27th October

10th and 24th November

8th December

(all tours start at 5.45pm)

Tours are free; however numbers are limited so reservations are essential. Please email visits@londonlibrary.co.uk with your full name, contact telephone number and the date you wish to attend the tour, or call 020 7766 4704. 

The tour encompasses 45 minutes of walking up and down many flights of stairs, and due to the nature of the building we are unable to offer lift access to all areas. The tour therefore may not be suitable if you have mobility problems - please inform us when you book and we will do our best to accommodate you. 

Monday night tours are aimed at non-members. We are unable to offer general tours at any other time. If you are a member and wish for any specific guidance in using the Library, please ask at reception, who will be happy to assist.
