The aim of the retrospective cataloguing project is to make all the Library’s collections accessible via the online catalogue.
In the cataloguing process each book is carefully examined so that it can be described accurately. This approach allows us to assess the condition of each book and identify individual features such as interesting bindings, dedications, and marginalia.
We have also found many items left between the pages of our books: bookmarks, bus tickets etc. Over the last two years we have stored these mementoes.
Giulia Ricci, an artist, has arranged images of these items to create an art work using the Library’s unique shelfmarks as her inspiration.
